Chicago Bears... the most hated team in the NFL?

So why is it the Chicago Bears are the most hated 9-3 team in the NFL? Could it possibly be because we're currently in 1st place? Let me tell you, it's definitely not are history with horrible quarterbacks, interceptions, or the curse of injuries. At least Urlacher is playing this year and earning his paycheck.

Culter is playing his worst games as a Bear with the most interceptions of his career. If someone could explain to me the trade of Orton to the Broncos I'd still love to hear that. In my opinion we should have never traded him. He's a great quarterback; all he needed were wide receivers who could actually catch. My bias could be from the fact that great quarterbacks come from Purdue or just his 80's style porn star mustache. You decide.

When it comes down to it, I feel the Bears franchise is a lot of politics. I would love to see a new coach come in and show Chicago the right way to lead a team. Back in the 2006 season when he got us to the Super Bowl, it was exciting. Mainly because being at Purdue the rivalry between the Bears and the Colts split the campus down the middle. However Tony Dungy proved to have the better team in the end. I felt as if the Bears didn't really earn their spot in the Super Bowl that year, rather it just feel into their laps.

So really when it comes down to it, the Bears are just permanently lucky, until it counts. Should we really be hated for that? With the exception of a few players, we're on the same level as Detroit. After all we did almost lose to them 24-20.
